Larkin and Lacey Frontera Fund Supports Other Civil, Human and Immigrant Rights Organizations

There are several groups that currently advocate for civil, human and immigrant rights. The groups are found throughout the United States and other parts of the world. They fight for rights including; human rights, migrant and civil rights.

The groups struggle to curb injustice and oppression faced by the vulnerable groups in the society. The modern world has seen revolutions advocating for the need to treat every human being equal. The civil human rights groups are working tirelessly to promote equality.

Larkin and Lacey Frontera Fund

Among the most outstanding human rights groups in the US is the Larkin and Lacey Frontera Fund. This organization was formed by Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin. The two journalists had been unlawfully arrested and consequently imprisoned.

They however filed an appeal and won the case. They were compensated a lump sum amount of money totalling to 3.75 million dollars. Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin used the compensation amount to establish the organization.

Larkin and Lacey Frontera Fund has continued to support Civil, Human and Migrant rights groups in Arizona and Mexico. The organization has reportedly expanded its financial support to other parts of the globe. The number of beneficiaries has equally increased in the recent past.

This is a branch of the United Nations that exclusively deal with the rights of refugees. The organization has greatly contributed in tackling the plight of refugees. The organization coordinates the migration and asylum activities especially in war ragged regions.

They saw it as a great form of discrimination. The group’s prominent activities are in California. It fights for freedom of movement of all immigrants. They want the society to be made a free avenue for expression both socially and democratically. They want the immigrants to be treated as absolute members of the societies that they live in.

ACLU Immigrants’ Rights Project

The group is determined to realize human rights of immigrants. It mainly concerns itself with litigation programs aimed at total protection of civil rights. It has called for implementation of the constitution to guarantee equal human rights.

This will ensure that immigrants do not experience form of discrimination or unfair treatment. The laws that violated immigrant rights have been legally challenged by this organization.

Amazon Watch

The organization’s activities extend to over thirty years. Amazon Watch is headquartered in Sans Francisco, Amazon Basin. It mainly concerns itself with protection of rainforest and indigenous people’s rights in the region.

They have championed for change locally as well as globally. Children, women and immigrants have been the biggest beneficiaries of this organization’s activities.
